Finally, after much anticipation South Africa’s newest
magazine with an Islamic ethos, was launched on Sunday, 8 July at the Balmoral
Hotel, Durban, hosted by Rookaya Vawda of North Beach Events and Shireen
Mansoor, editor of LSFM. Fused with
a fashion show showcasing the latest trends in evening wear by Essence
Collection, abhayas – traditional and ‘funky’ by Nur ul Ein and Silkroute –
and the latest wedding gowns by Bridemode,
the magazine was ‘unveiled’.
The launch was attended by about 100 people and the magazine
was well received. Garments featured in the magazine were modeled and the show
included a scarf styling demonstration and Lakme
make- up demonstration. Some fortunate ladies won fantastic gifts in the lucky draws
that were sponsored by Cazabella and
Scarves Unlimited.
With the overwhelming response the second issue did not take
long to put together and the third issue is well on its way. We look forward to
