As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
The Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassallam said:
"There is nobody who is afflicted with distress or
grief and who says: "O Allah! I am Your slave, the son of Your slave, the
son of Your maidservant, my forelock is in Your Hand, Your command over me is
ever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name
belonging to You, which You have named Yourself with, or which You have
revealed in Your Book, or which You have taught to any of Your creation, or
which You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make
the Quraan the life of my heart and the light of my chest, and a departure for
my sorrow and a release for my anxiety,"- but Allah will take away his
distress and grief, and replace it with ease."
The above hadeeth is reflective of the power the Qur'aan
has to change the condition of a believer.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, 14th May 2013) evening ILM-SA gives
you yet another opportunity to become closer to the Qur'aan through improving
your recitation thereof, as well as understanding its meaning.
Our Journey of the Qur'aan programme features one hour of
tajweed with Shaykh Naasirudeen Zubair Ibrahim who studied for many years at
Al-Azhar University in Egypt, and one hour of tafseer with Maulana Khalid Yacob
who has served our community with his knowledge acquired many years ago at
Nadwatul Uloom for a long time now.
This programme has been successfully running for the past
four weeks, and students have commented that it has changed the quality of
their Salaah.
In Part One, we are studying Surah Al Faatihah, and
Surahs Feel to Naas over ten lessons held weekly.
Join us this evening at 6.45pm at Lecture Room D at the
NMJ Islamic Centre (upstairs)...we will split you up into males and females.
The men will study tajweed for an hour whilst the women
study tafseer in a seperate room, and vice versa from 7.45pm to 8.45pm.
Don't worry about fees or level of difficulty, etc. for
now - just give it a try tomorrow evening in sha Allah, and we can take it from
there :)
Jazakumullahu khayran
wassalaam
